As any true-blue Star Wars fan would tell you, we will go the extra mile to get some of the rarest memorabilia out there. But there are some instances where such items are, surprisingly, easy to attain. I say ‘surprisingly’ because a recent piece I just acquired is a signed movie poster of “Episode V – Empire Strikes Back.”
“Empire Strikes Back” premiered back in 1980, a whopping four decades ago. A poster of it in mint condition is already rare enough! What more when it’s signed by the actual cast and crew? I mean, a poster with Mark Hamill’s and Carrie Fisher’s actual handwriting on it? Luke and Leila Skywalker themselves? That, in my opinion, deserves all the money in the world! And so, at the risk of spending all of my savings, when I saw that a website called Poster Memorabilia had one, I knew I just had to have it!
Delving more into the site, I liked how detailed Poster Memorabilia is with their products. They’re nice enough to share which of the cast and crew signed the poster, the dimensions, and they even provide a certificate of authenticity! The latter was the clincher for me. If there’s one thing I’m picky with, it’s the authenticity of the product. There are far too many sketchy websites and online shops out there ready to pounce on a sucker just to make a quick buck. So I appreciate Poster Memorabilia that they took the extra mile to certify their product. That made my purchase even more fulfilling!
As for ordering it, it was pretty straightforward. There wasn’t anything different from the other websites that also sell posters online. But another thing I liked about them is you can buy the poster without a frame, or with a frame and they already framed the poster before delivering it, so you’re sure to get it in mint condition! It’s also free shipping, but with what I went through, I would have gladly paid any fee they asked of me. Because not only did I get mine in about a week after I ordered it, but there also weren’t any scratches or rips, or anything. They made sure I got my money’s worth and that, to me, further proved that this site is the real deal.
Upon seeing it in the flesh—or rather, in the paper—I could tell those were actual signatures. Though it was signed ages ago, there was still that little glimmer of a marker when the light hits it just right. At the very least, I could tell the autographs weren’t just printed on the thing. And when I paired them up from my other signed memorabilia, they all mostly matched up! So you can imagine how elated I was to confirm, for myself, that this was the real deal!
Even though there are a ton of websites and online shops out there who claim they sell authentically autographed movie posters and other memorabilia, I can say with confidence that Poster Memorabilia is the real deal! And this is coming from an obsessed Star Wars fan who’s had his share of scams!
